Beyond Running and Chasing

Aim

Improve the ability of young people to use digital literacy skills for meaningful actions in life situations, including practical knowledge of accessing basic public services online, dealing with cyberbullying as well as understanding issues of privacy and consent.

Duration: January 2020 - January 2021

About the program

The project built on the vision of India's National Digital Literacy Mission to "empower at least one person per household with critical digital literacy skills by 2020". PSD partnered with PRIA (Participatory Research in Asia) to work with young people between the ages of 15-18 years to build their digital literacy skills for meaningful actions in life situations, using the mediums of smartphones and Kho-Kho.

As part of the project, supported by the Laureus Innovation Fund, PSD and PRIA developed a digital literacy curriculum, utilizing the learning mediums of Kho-Kho and participatory training methodologies. Further, PSD and PRIA trained in-house facilitators to deliver the curriculum and piloted the same with young people in Delhi.
